Class Levels

Training Reels Blue

This is our toddler class starting at age 2.5. Dancers learn foot positioning, balance, counting to music, and working together. (Dancers will need to be able to sit still and be able to listen to direction)

Training Reels Black

Perfect for first time dancers.  They will learn the fundamentals of Irish Dancing including counting to music, positioning, and the Irish jig and reel. (Ages 5 and up)

Pink

Dancers that graduate from Training Reels Black at teacher’s discretion. Dancers will learn the slip jig and begin learning hard shoe steps and technique. Dancers in this level typically attend class once/week but are free to attend two.

Purple

Dancers that graduate from Pink at teacher’s discretion. Dancers begin learning hornpipe, traditional set, and more advanced choreography for their current steps. Classes are designed for both our recreational and competitive dancers. Dancers in this level compete at the novice level in competition.

Teal

Dancers that graduate from Purple and proficient in both soft and hard shoe steps.   Classes are designed for our first-time Oireachtas soloist dancers and dancers preparing to compete in the Oireachtas for traditional set dance.  Dancers in this level compete at the novice/prizewinner level in competition.

Silver

Dancers that graduate from Teal at teacher’s discretion and are in the prizewinner level for all their dancers. Dancers in this level are working to compete as a soloist at the Oireachtas.

Gold

Designed for our highly competitive dancers that compete at the Preliminary and Open Championship levels. Dancers at this level compete at the regional, national, and international competitions.
