Note from Shannon- I took my first Irish dance lesson when I was four years old and have been hooked ever since. I quickly fell in love with Irish dance and spent most of my time at the dance studio. After competing for 18 years on the regional, national, and international stages, I hung up my dance shoes and picked up my camera. For a few years, I specialized in Irish dance photography and worked with Shamrock Photography. My family lives in Downers Grove and I teach kindergarten at Kingsley Elementary, the same school as Coach Jamie! You may also know my mom, Diane Cohoon, the seamstress that performs miracles on dresses. I am extremely excited to be joining Bentley Academy and look forward to getting to know each of the dancers and their families!

I wanted to share a sweet story about our Khaya. She had a goal of earning her solo dress. She worked so hard and achieved her goal and then spent 9 hours selling lemonade to earn money to contribute to the expensive cost. What an amazing demonstration of focus, drive, dedication, commitment, passion, and leadership. I am so proud of you, Khaya!!! 💚🖤💚
